BUDGET ADDRESS
Governor Pritzker gave his annual Budget and State of the State Address this week, and once again we have been presented with the largest budget in state history, nearly $2 billion more than last year.
There were a couple of notable cuts in the proposed budget, but the bottom line is all the tricks and gimmicks aren’t going to add up in the end. Unless real reforms and spending cuts are enacted, Democrats are going to once again raise our taxes.

A bill filed by Democrats in the Illinois General Assembly would attack parental rights and educational choice in Illinois. It would also make Illinois the first state in the nation to increase restrictions on parents’ freedom to educate their children.

AROUND THE DISTRICT
Earlier this week, I was honored to attend the Government Affairs Leadership Conference in Springfield. The event included other area state representatives and senators. I enjoyed talking with members of the Woodford County Farm Bureau to discuss key issues involving our farmers, including the Family Farm Preservation Act.
I had the privilege of attending the McLean County Board Legislative Breakfast this morning with other representatives and senators.
We enjoyed presentations and conversations discussing key legislative priorities and strengthening partnerships for the benefit of all our local communities.
