Rep. Tipsword Honors National Police Week

Springfield, IL – State Representative Dennis Tipsword (R-Metamora) is honoring National Police Week, which runs through May 16 this year. Rep. Tipsword has worked as a law enforcement officer for over 30 years, and he currently serves as the Chief Deputy in the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort, organized by a number of organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community. National Police Week offers a time to pay special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. At the State Capitol last week, the annual Illinois Peace Officer Memorial ceremony was held, with thousands of attendees paying their respects to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

“I want to pay special tribute to all of the brave men and women who choose to serve their communities as police officers,” Rep. Tipsword stated. “Your bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication are an inspiration, and I am proud to call you my brothers and sisters. We took an oath to serve and protect, and we will always honor that code.”
