While it’s great that the Governor finally got on board with new nuclear development in Illinois, he still fails to take accountability for the policies that led to Illinois’ energy crisis in the first place. Governor Pritzker’s green energy fantasies reduced our power generation capacity, leading to rate hikes and energy shortages.

This week, there were 352 bills from Democrats in committee vs. just 9 from Republican lawmakers. Democrats are abusing their supermajority status to shut Republicans and the millions of Illinoisans we represent out of the process.
PROPERTY TAXES
One of the biggest issues we hear from our residents is the state’s rising tax rates. Illinoisans pay the HIGHEST property taxes in the country and Illinois Democrats have done nothing to bring these costs down. House Republicans have introduced a number of measures throughout the years to address this issue. We can make Illinois more affordable, and it’s time for Democrats to get on board.
POLITICAL GAMES
Governor Pritzker continually puts politics before people in his attempt to gain national attention, and Illinois families pay the price. Instead of fighting Washington at every turn, he should be working with the federal government to make life more affordable for our residents. Cooperation helps everyone, but with Governor Pritzker, the people of Illinois come last all too often.
