I had the pleasure of hosting a Home Schoolers Group from District 105 during Veto Session earlier this week. Thank you for coming down to your Capitol and visiting with me. It was great to meet and talk to all of you!

The first week of Veto Session has come and gone without any movement from the majority party on the issues important to Illinoisans. We have three scheduled days next week, so let’s buckle down and get to work for the people we represent.

ENERGY

Leader Tony McCombie has filed a legislative bill package to make changes to the state’s Environmental Protection Act and ensure Illinois can meet the energy demands of its residents.

MEALS ON WHEELS

House Republicans have introduced legislation to protect funding for programs like Meals on Wheels. House Bill 5911 will move $25 million from the migrant welcoming centers to support the Home Delivered Meals Program and ensure our seniors can continue to receive this important service.
