Rep. Tipsword’s Weekly E-Newsletter: Manufacturing, Hunting, Energy Assistance, and More

CELEBRATING MANUFACTURING MONTH

Earlier this week, I was proud to join Gabby Garza of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) in presenting Hardin Industries, LLC, in Lacon with an Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) reimbursement grant check on behalf of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

The Hardin team has expanded and includes nearly 50 years of industry experience in sales, mechanical and electrical engineering, and production leadership. They take great pride in continuing a legacy of quality craftsmanship and reputation as a provider of choice in the power generation industry…. and, they’re hiring! https://www.hardinindustries.com/open-positions

PICTURED (L to R): Gabby Garza (IMA), Rep. Tipsword, Becki Salmon (CEO); Eric Porter (Director of Sales); David Orwig (Engineering Manager); and John Hill (Production Manager).

VINTAGE ITALIAN EATERIES

It’s not often that a small city in a rural area in Illinois boasts two destination restaurants, but that is an absolute reality in the Marshall County city of Toluca, population 1,336. Both Mona’s and Capponi’s date back to the 1930s, and since 1965 they have both been owned by the Bernardi family.

The decadent Italian eateries are located a block apart on Main Street, and both sport large, retro glowing neon signs out front. Read more from the Caucus Blog:
