This Day in History-The Illinois Enabling Act

Did you know…On this day in 1818, the Illinois Enabling Act was passed in Congress. This Act provided for the organization of a state government, established the northern boundary of Illinois, and created a permanent school fund from a portion of public land sales proceeds.
